Spring has sprung here in Saltillo, MS, and we’ve got some great spring activities we’re really looking forward to. We’d like to clue you into some of the best local events! All are within easy driving distance in your comfy Toyota Corolla.
Gorge at the Wallhill Park Crawfish Festival
How many crawfish can you eat? Find out if you’re a winner at the crawfish eating contest at 1930 Wallhill Rd in Byhaila on Saturday, May 6 from noon until 5 pm. Tickets are $10 to $35, depending on what you choose to do. For $10, you get into the event; for $35, you get all-you-can-eat crawfish! There will be live music, games, and, of course, prizes for those who love crawfish with all their hearts.
Attend the Boots & Dukes Field Party
For this fun-filled event, there will be food trucks and vendors selling goodies of all kinds, bull riding, volleyball, horseshoes, DJs bringing the tunes, and even a 4-wheeler mud pit contest you can enter! You’re welcome to bring your 4-wheeler, ATV, or even your horse on May 6 and 7 to 5094 MS-309 5094 Mississippi 309 in Byhalia.
The event starts at 11 am on the 6th and runs until noon on the following day. Be aware that your bags have to be clear! The point is safety for all and for everyone to have an amazing time. Tickets for general admission for kids are $7 and adults at $15.
Bop Along to the May Day Music Fest
Every year, the Music Fest at McFarland Park in Florence raises money for a worthy charity. This year, they’re helping out Restoration Ranch. Restoration Ranch offers substance abuse treatment for anyone who needs it, free of charge, including support groups, residence treatment, and counseling.
This is a great cause, and there will be great music from Howell Sledge, Justin Miller, Southern Axcent, the Misfits, Country Mile, Slim Fatz, Alizaya Tejade, and the Restoration Ranch band (and more!). There really won’t be a minute when there isn’t music to enjoy, so come on out to support them on May 27 from 10 am until 8 pm at McFarland Park, 200 James M. Spain Dr. in Florence.
Eat Till You Drop at the Holly Springs Food Truck Festival
End spring and kick off the summer with this great event on June 3rd. The best part about this event is that everyone is trying to outdo each other: and those of us eating get to benefit! Held on June 3 this year, the Food Truck Festival is from 1 pm until 6 pm at 564 Woodward Ave in Holly Springs.
