The Store
Head south down 145, past Cadence Bank, inside the Chevron station to get the hearty breakfast they serve up here at The Store. They open at 4:30 AM most days, but on Sunday, they’re not open until 7 PM. This is a favorite local spot with amazing food and great prices, and the staff could not be friendlier.
Everything they make for breakfast is fresh and homemade, and you really can’t get better diner-style coffee. Stop by for favorites like pancakes, omelets, and breakfast plates that will keep you fueled and happy all day.
Brick & Spoon
When you want a special breakfast, take a short trip down to 1201 N Gloster St in Tupelo and visit the Brick & Spoon. They’re open from 7 AM until 2 PM every day. Their tagline here is that they’re “allergic to boring breakfast,” and that’s definitely the case. Everything here is unique and interesting, and they have some great breakfast cocktails if you’re in the mood. Just remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive.
We really enjoy their breakfast fries, which are bacon, béchamel, hollandaise, and egg. If you want something sweeter, try the Bananas in Pajamas, which are eggrolls fried crispy and full of banana, covered in a foster sauce. They do a full line of omelets that come in any combination and variety you can imagine, and they also have stuffed French toast sliders and great pancakes.
Blue Sky Diner
If you want a traditional diner-style experience, this diner is the place to go. You’ll find them in Belden, at 3094 McCullough Blvd in the Exxon station, which is a short and comfortable trip in your Toyota. Naturally, there are chain places closer, but they don’t offer the same local experience. You can eat here from 8 AM until 9 PM every day but Sunday.
Have one or two eggs with bacon, sausage, steak, or country ham. These plates come with grits, toast, or a biscuit. The omelets here are great, too, particularly the Western. And if you’re in the mood for some sides, try their biscuits with gravy, steak, country ham, or bacon. The grits are good, too.
